Caribbean Media Arts Center
The Caribbean Media Arts Center (CMAC) is a Macintosh/Intel-based multimedia lab that will provide access to technology, information and new media skills to Bluefields students and young professionals. This center is made possible through a collaboration that includes:
- Bluefields Indian Caribbean University (BICU): a local university that is providing a space to house the computers
- The Ethical Fieldston Culture School: a New York State private high school that awarded the donation of 26 Computers in July 2009
- Wisconsin Nicaragua Partners: a US-based non-profit that is facilitating the shipping of the computers
- The Bluefields Sound System: a local music and video production company that will provide administrative resources
The CMAC will provide classes in Video Production (Final Cut Pro) , Audio Production (Garage Band, Audacity, Logic, Reason) Graphic Design (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Web Design (PHP, CSS, Basic HTML) and Archiving. If you would like more information or would like to participate in the project, email us at info@bluefieldsound.com.
